Welcome Pre-Kindergarteners!

My name is Ms. Rubie. I grew up in Kerrville TX and have 3 beautiful children and one grandchild whom I enjoy spending as much time with as possible outside of work.

The Playworks team became my family in Aug. 2020.  I came with 31+ years of experience in teaching young children and directing childcare centers.  Though I still hold a Director's license and train teachers on the side, my love of teaching outweighs the numerous hours administration duties require; thus, I'm in my happy-place in the classroom.  

Children in my care will experience love & respect as well as learning socially acceptable limits and problem solving skills that will greatly benefit them when they enter the larger school settings in Kindergarten.  In addition, I work to foster a "jump start" in all areas of academia so that each have the opportunity to experience a successful start in school.  We all know that early successes attribute to a love of learning and continued positive outcomes with children's attitudes and accomplishments in school.  

In this time of isolation from parents while working with these young children I've come to know so well...I encourage and welcome parents to reach out to me on the cloud based APP we use called Brightwheel.  The messaging system and mode of relaying information about your child's day as it happens is an incredible piece of technology I'm even becoming more and more familiar with... as I grew up in a paper-and-pencil world! 

I look forward to being a positive experience in your child's lives and best wishes as they move on to the "bigger world" in Kindergarten.
